A joint Austro-German naval force was operated on Bodensee during World War I, probably under German overall command. No boats so far traced, although Kaiserin Elisabeth of the Austrian Railways, built in 1887, is known to have survived until 1954 as Bludenz,and thus may well have served in the flotilla.
