American Lt Charles Spafford, commander of sub-chaser unit at Spalato, ordered sub-chaser 124 to Fiume to form a unit with sub-chaser 127. Their task was to hoist American flag on four Austro-Hungarian (according to Zivojinovic) destroyers with a guard at Buccari, and also on four Austro-Hungarian destroyers anchored at Porto Rè. (Zivojinovic could mean torpedo boats rather than destroyers.)

Austrian Board of Directors of Lloyd Austriaco (Austrian Lloyd) resigned following the purchase of a large block of shares from the Union Bank of Vienna by the Banca Commerciale Italiana, backed by the Italian government. The company was subsequently renamed Lloyd Triestino.

The last Austro-Hungarian warship to see service was the torpedo boat 87F, which survived in service with the Yugoslav Navy as Cer until 1963. Dalmat, the Cattaro station ship which had carried the bodies of the assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife from Metkovic to the Viribus Unitis, still survives with the Croatian Navy.

Parts of the submarine U20 can be seen today at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum in Wien. The ship’s bell of Prinz Eugen is preserved in Graz, having served in the eponymous German ship in the Second World War.

Rizzo’s MAS15 which was responsible for the loss of Szent Istvan is preserved in the Museo del Vittoriano, Rome, and MAS 96 in which Gabriele D’Annunzio participated in the unsuccessful raid on Buccari, near Fiume, was taken to Gardone on Gardasee in 1925 and is still preserved there today.
